Jamaica is racing against time to prepare for the impact of the devastating hurricane Category 5.
About the Campaign
On October 27, 2025, Hurricane Melissa intensified to Category 5, with sustained winds of approximately 185 miles per hour by the following morning, making it one of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes in history (NOAA & CNN Weather). The storm’s slow movement and strength threaten severe flash flooding, landslides, and storm surges in Jamaica, with more than half of the island’s population expected to be directly affected by this disaster (IFRC).
At CADENA International, we are deploying our team to support immediate response efforts in coordination with local organizations in Jamaica, addressing the urgent needs of communities affected by Hurricane Melissa.
